Time-tested Orthman durability builds the perfect bed
To stay out in front, you need equipment that sets up easily, adjusts precisely, does exactly what it’s designed to do and stays on the job season after season. On that basis, the Orthman 8385 Parallel Linkage BedLister has set the industry standard. The heavy-duty, wrap-around parallel linkage is the product of more than three decades of high horsepower row crop tillage experience and provides precision depth control in the roughest of terrain. Rotary moldboards mounted on high-strength steel shanks offer a smooth and consistent pull to create perfectly shaped beds. The 8385 is available in 6- to 18-row configurations with 30″ to 40″ spacing to adapt to a wide variety of applications.
Unlike mounting systems that transfer draft force solely through U-bolts that can stretch, distort and break, Orthman’s heavy-duty force-through-mount design and wedge locking system join steel to steel to stand up to the rigors of bedding.
Wrap-around parallel linkage
Precision seedbeds start with Othman’s time-tested row unit foundation. The heavy-duty parallel linkage row unit operates independently of the toolbar, giving you consistent depth control with up to 8 inches of vertical travel for precision bed shaping in uneven field conditions.
Precision wrench-free depth adjustment
Providing 9″ of quick and consistent tooling depth control, the hand crank depth adjustment with high visibility depth indicators enable easy height adjustment settings across entire machine.
Depth Band Coulter Option
The rugged 22″ depth band coulter easily slices through surface and sub-surface residue to eliminate interference with the lister bottom while it simultaneously maintains precise depth control and provides lateral stability.
Precisely shape your bed height, width and slope with adjustable, smooth-pulling rotary moldboards perfected by Orthman through decades of customer feedback. The shear bolt tail protects the lister unit from rocks and other unseen obstructions, to ensure long life.
Robust sealed bearings
Greasing bearings is one maintenance task you won’t have on the 8385. Orthman’s heavy-duty sealed bearings allow you to conquer the toughest bedding conditions year after year.
When not being used for bedding, the 8385 can be tooled with any of Orthman’s many precision cultivating accessories; the 8385 is truly two tools in one.
Pull soil away from the plant without disturbing the root zone with the optional barring-off discs; when not in use, the wrench-free pin adjustment lets you quickly rotate them out of the way.
Multiple Sweep Options to match your needs
The 8385 can utilize multiple Orthman sweep styles, including the single piece sweep, western sweep and super sweep, with blade options to match your row spacing.
Single Piece Sweep
Cut Widths 14” to 26”
Cut Widths 16” to 28”
Cut Widths 18” to 26”
If you need to move more dirt for furrow building, the fully width adjustable Orthman ridging wings are available for all sweep options.
Precision nutrient placement side-dressing options (liquid or NH3 fertilizer) allow for dual operations in a single pass for greater efficiency. The dual fertilizer tube option splits to each side of the row to precision place fertilizer close to the crop, while the shank mounted knife option can place the fertilizer deeper in the center of the row.

Follow the leader in stack-fold technology — Orthman
Orthman was at the very forefront in developing stack-fold technology and continues to provide the best stacking toolbars available. Orthman precision line-bored, wide-wing hinges offer increased strength and smooth, reliable folding for the life of your machine. Built to handle the roughest conditions, Orthman stacking toolbars go from road-ready to working in the field quicker than you can say, “Make mine Orthman!”
Unsurpassed toolbar strength
The 8385 can be mounted on any of Orthman’s industry-leading rigid, folding or stacking toolbars featuring wide, precision line-bored hinges for smooth folding and extra-engineered strength. The 8385 is available in 6- to 18-row configurations with 30” to 40” spacing to adapt to a wide variety of applications.
Orthman folding toolbars are designed around the original principles of the Orthman internal cylinder folding toolbar first developed in the 1970s. The toolbar’s innovative internal folding cylinder design allows the toolbar to fold while freeing up peripheral toolbar space that’s wasted in external folding cylinder models.
Additional Lifting Power
Optional lift assist wheels can be added to help reduce the tractor load with their 10,000 lb lift capacity and large tire width for better field flotation in wet conditions.
Optional GPS Implement Guidance
For greater precision, the Orthman Tracker® IV implement guidance system can be added to the Parallel Linkage BedLister, guaranteed to help build a precision foundation to produce maximum yields.
